We stayed at the Drury Hotel in Wichita end of June 2015 traveling with my husband on a business trip. I was a bit apprehensive because it is an older hotel, I had no need to be, because it was lovely and fully restored. Because the Drury is located right on the Arkansas river, we were able to take advantage of the museums on the waterfront, such as the science museum. Many attractions were within walking distance, but some (such as cowtown) required a car. I also must say, that one of our favorite things to do in Wichita was to drive around and look at the architecture, especially in college hill where the Frank Lloyd wright house is located, as the town was very unique in the variety of architectural stylings and detail. It was also amazing to drive down douglas and look at the sculptures in bronze on the side of the road. It is obvious that Wichita has long had a love for the arts. The hotel was well appointed with elements of the old hotel left in tact.

The marble floors, ornate ceiling and iron railings, speak of an elegant past without feeling dingy or old. Of course, the Arkansas river view was the star of the show.

It is very convenient with a sky bridge that connects it to the hotel over the road. It comes out right on the second floor by the pool. The first night we were there, we arrived after the hospitality time and took advantage of the restaurant that was located on property.
