The statue further provides legal definition of the Posse members “the Posse members shall have limited Peace Officer authority when authorized by the Sheriff or his agents, as defined herein”. Begun in Dallas County in 1970, it has been reorganized and is now more focused on support to the Sheriff and his office with significant dedication.
